Dear Generations of Faith families,
We want to give you some new information and some reminders for our Generations of Faith programs for the rest of the season.
We will meet Sunday February 7 or Monday, February 8. Our theme will be the second half of the Lord’s Prayer. Don’t forget to bring King Cake for 8 persons if you “won the prize” in January. Also please bring a pocket electronic device if you have one, for one of the activities.
We had planned to have a guest speaker form the organization Food for the Poor at this February session. Msgr. Andre Pierre, a priest from Haiti, was chosen and was excited about speaking with you. However, since the earthquake there he has been missing. We ask you to keep him in your prayers.
In March we will meet on Sunday, March 7 or Monday, March 8. Our theme will be Praying in Lent with emphasis on Holy Thursday. As our service project for the year we will be helping fill Easter baskets for those in need during this month. A sign up sheet for various jobs will be available in February.
In April, since Easter falls on the first weekend of the month, we will have Generations of Faith on April 11 and 12. The theme will be the Emmaus story of Easter and Praying with Mary.
In May Generations of Faith will be “on the road.” Instead of meeting at the parish center on the first weekend, we will be making a pilgrimage to a shrine of Mary on the day you choose. We will have lots of ideas for you at the April session. You can go just as a family, or join with others to have a larger group. There will be a bus going to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Cross as one option.
On Monday, May 24 everyone is invited to a potluck dinner when we will share about the Marian pilgrimages we made. That will conclude the Generations program for this year.
Our parish staff would like to invite you to pray the rosary for our youth every Wednesday at 12:15 in room 2 of the Parish Center. If you cannot come then, join us wherever and whenever you pray for our youth.
