St. Bernard Preschool will hold an Open House on Friday, March 5,
2010 for all parents and guardians interested in visiting our part-day program.
The Open House will run from 9:00 am - 10:30 am. To request information
please call 249-9257 Ext. 228 and Ms. Renee will be happy to assist you.

Current families and parish members are able to enroll for Summer School
June 1-25, 2010 and/or for the 2010-2011 school year, starting
February 5, 2010. Enrollment is on a first-come-first-sign-up basis.
Fall registration is $20.00 per child.

For current students:
Parents may meet with a teacher the week of February 22-25, 2010. We
will make an appointment for any family that would like to discuss our
assessments on any of these days from 8:00-8:20 am or 11:40 am - 1:00
pm. (If interested you MUST make an appointment with the teacher.)

St. Bernard Preschool is an early childhood program which is sponsored by the parish. The preschool is licensed by the State of Wisconsin.

Philosophy
St. Bernard Catholic Preschool is designed to promote the emotional, social, spiritual, cognitive and physical development of each child.

We focus on creating a warm and accepting environment which contributes to the development of a positive self-esteem as well as encouraging cooperation and interaction among children.

Skills to enhance independence, self-reliance and problem solving will be developed.

A variety of learning situations will be provided to stimulate creativity and encourage exploration and investigation of the environment. There will be opportunities for both gross and fine motor development in both indoor and outdoor settings.

We feel that a molding and mixing of a friendly, secure, warm and safe atmosphere is conducive to the continued healthy development of children.

Our Goals and Program
As important as early childhood programs are, parents are the most important people in the lives of young children. A goal of St. Bernard Catholic Preschool is to work with parents to prepare the child for successful future school experiences. In order to achieve this, a close relationship will be maintained between school and home. Communication between parents and staff is an integral part of our program.

It is our goal to help each child become a productive, healthy and self-motivated individual who is happy and secure. Our program emphasizes an awarness of values and a positive self-image and skills for communicating with both adults and children. We help children to develop to their fullest potential in several developmental areas.

Enrollment Eligibility
Admission to preschool is open to any child(ren) who is 3 years old by the date they start preschool and who is successfully toilet trained. Younger children may be admitted after screening by the director and consultation with the parents on an individual basis provided the child is succesfully potty trained. The preschool does not discriminate in either services or admission on the basis of race, color, sex, creed, or sexual orientation. The program is non-denominational and therefore open to all families.

Sessions Offered
Preschool Only
Mon. through Fri. = 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Mon./Weds./Fri. = 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Tues./Thurs. = 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 a.m.

For an additional fee, we offer extended care 7:30 - 8:30 and 11:30 - 12:25. These times are offered to facilitate your schedule. For Lunch Bunch, (11:30 - 12:25) you bring a lunch for your child.

Other Progam Offerings

Bible Stories
Each week, for 15 minutes, the children are taught Bible Stories through song, prayers, stories and activities.

Music~Movement
St. Bernard Catholic Preschool has implemented our own program of Music~Movement. The classes include elements of body and locomotor movement and musical concepts of rhythm, beat, tempo, etc.
