Student Expectations
Students who are registered for the program are thereby accepting the following responsibilities:
- Regular attendance (Mere registration and attendance at a few classes does not fulfill grade requirement)
- Willingness to learn
- Respect for God, for the teachings of the Church, for self and others and for property
- Behavior that exemplifies that respect
- Remember to bring books, folders, materials to class each week – “Consider it as you would your sports equipment or musical instrument.”
Liturgy of the Word from 3 years old through second grade
We offer Liturgy of the Word for children from 3 years old through second grade throughout the year at the 10:00 AM Mass on Sunday. Monsignor Mike invites the children to take part in the Mass entrance procession. After the procession they follow a volunteer catechist to the Holy Family Room for about 15 minutes. The catechist shares the Gospel story in their own language and they sing a song or two. Children return to their family during the Offertory with a flyer that explains the Gospel story.
Please contact our Director of Religious Formation at 608/249-7288, ext 230 for more information.
Grades 1 – 5
- All children participate with their parent/guardian at Generations of Faith once a month. See Generations of Faith.
- Kidz Club is an opportunity for children to come and learn more about their faith in a fun way. Through stories, song, games, and crafts the tradition of the faith comes alive. We meet once a month, on a day that is convenient to the participants. It is facilitated by parents and staff.
- Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist happen as children as presented by their parents or guardians. The Diocese has a policy that children should be in a religious education program one full year prior to starting preparation for sacraments.
