The Road to Enlightenment

About The Women of St. Bernard

The Women of St. Bernard organization was established around 1936 as the St. Bernard's Christian Mothers. In the 1960's we were known as St. Bernard's Altar Society, and in 1995 we took our present name.

Our mission is to unite all Catholic women of St. Bernard Parish in religious, educational and social activities. Additionally, we assist the pastor in spiritual and material undertakings for the welfare of the parish.

Membership is open to any woman of St. Bernard Parish who is over 18 years of age. Membership dues are $5.00 annually, due in September.

Our organization sponsors and supports several events throughout the year as well as conducting four business meetings. Fundraising monies go to sponsor various projects and community charities. Throughout the year the women serve the parish through funeral luncheons as well as support the parish's two kitchens. All events and meeting are published by announcement or flyer in the parish weekly bulletin.

Events sponsored by the Women of St. Bernard include: Annual Holiday Bazaar Evening of Reflections Annual Garage Sale Baby Jesus Shower Annual Salad Luncheon Brat / Hot Dog Stand

If you are interested in joining this organization, please contact the parish Volunteer Coordinator at 249-7288 ext.224 for membership information.
